It is time to step up and protect the investing public from the brokerage industies claims and advertisements that they are the qualified representatives who will bring independence and objectivity in their financial planning and investment advice to their clients, while they continue to do just the opposite hiding behind words and diclosures that their clients do not read or understand. Making the brokerage houses fiduciaries,if they choose to give financial planning advice, gives the public greater protection and a greater chance for recovery should the brokerage house representative brach that fiduciary duty .
