I believe this new change would be good for individual investors. It would clearly open up communications between broker/investor and bring a little insight on how the broker is thinking - i.e. will he/she be working for the investor or the firm that is offering an incentive on pushing a fund. In addition, it will force the brokers hand in trying to sale the fund - i.e. are you bringing it up only because of the incentive or because you believe in its philosophy.
