From: Harrison and Olivia [ohbaewein@yahoo.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2002 4:26 PM To: rule-comments@sec.gov Subject: File No. S7-36-02 I am strongly in favor of this proposed rule. I recently learned that a mutual fund I owned shares in was acting in a way that I strongly disagreed with. I had never had any communications from the company about their policies, but only learned about their activity by stumbling across a newspaper article. When I did research into other funds to move my money into, I soon realized that there was no way for me to know whether any of these funds were voting proxies in ways that I supported. Currently, we can only judge mutual funds by their returns. Before I invest in a fund, I would like to know their policies in proxy voting, and to be able to see their voting record. In summary, I strongly support the disclosure of proxy voting policies and proxy voting records by registered management investment companies. Sincerely, Harrison Wein __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Y! Web Hosting - Let the expert host your web site http://webhosting.yahoo.com/
