Author: "Hiroshi Proctor" Date: 03/22/2000 10:36 AM Subject: Proposed Regulation FD I strongly support the fair disclosure rules that will be implemented if the planned Regulation FD goes into effect. Currently selective disclosure policies by publicly held companies create an artificial unequal information field where those analysts and select few who are lucky to be privy to such selective information can then turn around and profit off of the ones such information truly belongs to, the shareholders of the company, the people who have a financial stake in the well-being of the company. This is patently unfair and is a practice that should be stopped. Whenever a job is artificially created (such as that of the information middle-man in this case) it is economically inefficient; in this case it also creates a disadvantage for the individual investor. I strongly urge you to pass and enact Regulation FD.
