Insider information such as advanced notice of earnings or negative information, whether shared with a handful of individual or selected Wall Street Brokers should be illegal. Even within the brokerage community if a company will select certain firms based on the companies perceived bias toward those brokers will create an inherent conflict regarding honest analysis of a company if the analysis is negative. Any concern raised by the Securities lobby about the free flow of information would be primarily regarding the free and not the flow. It imply it would stifle communication with patently ridiculous.
