Date: 1/5/98 12:40 PM Subject: Oppose S7-25-97 Arthur Levitt Securities and Exchange Commission 450 5th Street, NW Washington, DC 20549 Dear Mr. Levitt, I am completely opposed to any rule that would prevent many stockholder initiatives from being deliberated and voted upon at open stockholder meetings. Stockholders should have every freedom to try to influence the company in which they invest. Any attempt to restrict this freedom is antidemocratic. Labor unions must be organized in a democratic way. Why not businesses? Do not restrict my freedom as a stockholder. Sincerely, Andrea Palmer 338 Westland Drive Frankfort KY 40601
