As long as this policy is in place true independence cannot be reached. There should be some entity that companies pay for "membership dues" too then this entity appoints the auditors to companies and pays them for the audit services. This will eliminate any problems that may come to light being swept away out of fear of losing the client. Thank you, Tammy Caldwell
