The present system for selecting corporate board members is 100 years out-of-date! Ultimately would like to see see all shareholders vote on a short list of board candidates based on their vitae, much as is done in selection of board members for a university. The major shareholders need to be able to put forward 50% of the candidates on the short list. Further, those who are honest, wise, and experienced and would like to serve on corporate boards need to be identified on the web in a "national identify list", one web page per candidate.
