Governors: I understand that you are considering requirements for better shareholder representation on corporate Boards. Hooray and at long last!! There is a great deal that is right about our corporations. The way Boards are structured and selected is most certainly not one of them. We badly need some way to build in better representation for shareholders. This should be done in such a way as to give real powers to shareholders. Corporate Executives need to be a lot more answerable to their shareholders, the general public, and those who work for them. At present most have no compunction about helping themselves to fistfuls of benefits, cash and perks even if it means trashing their workers, shareholders and the general public in the process. The past ten years are littered with instances which by any other name constitute unrestrained plundering and thievery. If that makes me sound like a rebel … well I am just a shareholder with meaningful interests in a healthy investor climate who feels that the climate could stand a lot of improvement. Sincerely, D.
