Date: 5/19/97 10:56 AM I have just read Don Phillip's article in Morningstar.net regarding the possible weakening of prospectuses by introducing the profile prospectus as the material presented to potential shareholders. I share his concern that these changes are not in the best interests of the shareholders. I believe the SEC has the responsibility to uphold and create rules which protect the investor, and I do not believe that a profile prospectus is in the interests of the investor. It is time that the SEC support plain English documents that are understandable by all. Please work towards that end while continuing to support ALL the information that investors need to know before purchase. If you believe that plain English isn't possible, contact the folks at NoLo Press. They can. Thank you Mary Rysdale California
