          Dear Sir/Madam;

          I have been aware of the Optimark development work since 1995 and am writing to
          support the changes being considered to ensure that the Optimark trading system
          can interface with various exchanges(to include the PCX and the NYSE.)  Any
          process which increases the transparency and efficiency of the trading
          enviroment of our securities industry based upon the use of technology should be
          considered even if it exposes tradition systems to competitive pressures.  I
          urge the SEC to support the Optimark technology to be used thru the PCX(and
          other exchanges) as an important step forward in transparency and technology
          use.  To set limits or to require manual intervention in the trade flow could
          disadvantage investors.
