From: sdcates2 [mailto:sdcates2@cox.net] Sent: Tuesday, July 23, 2002 6:17 PM To: chairmanoffice@sec.gov Subject: Please End Short Selling Dear Chairman Pitt: Individual investors are advised by wall street pundits to sell their stocks and get out markets. As the same time, greedy hedge funds and wealthy investors pile on shorting stocks which creates a massive imbalance in sell orders and causes the stock market to tank. Clearly, wall street, hedge funds, and large investors, plan to profit on the way down, and on the way up, while the individual small investor takes a shellacking. End infectious greed by passing regulations to end short selling, program trading, and all other forms of market manipulation.
