Now, trading in "sub pennies" has taken us back to a VERY difficult system to relate to for clients. Before, if you called somebody and said they had purchased a stock at "$11 and 37/64ths" it nearly always involved an explanation that required a conversion to decimals. Now, if you call them and say that they purchased a stock for "$11.578125" we're in the same boat. We have to round it off for them. If 64ths were good enough, do we need a slice more fine than 1/100ths? Tell them that they bought their stock for $11.58 and all we'll get is "Thank you". We would be fine with 1/100ths (cents).
