Visiting Academic Scholar Appointed to the Office of Economic Analysis

Washington, D.C., Aug. 4, 2006 - The Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of Economic Analysis today announced the appointment of Dr. Yaniv Grinstein as a Visiting Academic Scholar for a term ending in June 2007. Dr. Grinstein is currently an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.

Dr. Grinstein received his Ph.D. in Finance in 2000 from Carnegie Mellon University. His areas of expertise include corporate finance and corporate governance. His recent work has focused on the effect of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and changes to stock exchange regulation on shareholder value and firm policies. While at the Commission, Dr. Grinstein will join other researchers on projects concerning corporate governance and corporate finance, as well as other areas as dictated by SEC priorities.
