Subject: conflict minerals ban

Dear Madam/Sir:

Please be aware that there is a move to take the ban on conflict minerals out of the Dodd Frank law. This means that precious metals and jewels that fuel the worst wars in Africa, turn women and children into targets of rape and torture, and corrupt governments destroying basic human services in mining zones will once again be sold and worn in this country.
Please help those in government understand that we do not need diamonds from conflict zones.

This law has had a positive effect in Africa and to overturn it will prove disastrous.

Thank you,

Judith Baker, Literacy Consultant to the African Storybook Initiative
