There are a number of key issues surrounding the suggested change to the rule. The initial concern revolves around altering the margin requirements for stocks that are volatile. The objective is to avoid clearing members from defaulting, as this could potentially result in a widespread crisis. The second concern relates to the perceived lack of transparency within the proposal, which seems to unfairly benefit clearing members at the expense of other investors. Additionally, the article critiques the OCC for being self-regulatory while also holding regulators responsible for not providing adequate protection. Ultimately, I strongly object to and oppose this proposed regulation. Sincerely, Concerned Household investor.
