Allowing for the waiving of margin requirements puts out financial markets at extreme risk of abusive and manipulative naked short selling practices such as wash trading, FTD’s, derivatives manipulation through deep in the money puts, naked shorting through ETF abuse, and limiting price discovery through the use of dark pools. These practices when unchecked completely undermine the integrity of a free market.
