Dear SEC, I’m writing to support the conversion of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (Symbol: GBTC), currently the world’s largest Bitcoin fund, to the first Spot Bitcoin ETF in the United States. I’m a surgeon in private practice in Florida. I believe I have the mental capacity to weigh risks and benefits. I am accountable for my decisions both at work and off. I do not need my options limited by a “higher authority.” This ongoing delay feels paternalistic as well as contradictory given the approval of a futures ETF. Bitcoin serves as a hedge against the current financial system, with all of its problems. The world is embracing bitcoin. The SEC should be leading with freedom and transparency.
