Dear SEC,

I write to you as a GBTC shareholder, in support of the conversion of Grayscale Bitcoin — to an ETF. By not approving this conversion, you are not protecting me, the investor – the very person you were appointed to protect.

My whole life, the United States was always at the forefront of innovation and progress. It seems Canada has the foresight to recognize where the future is headed and it’s digital. While they may have taken the lead it doesn’t mean they will win the race, the US still can. However, you have to do what’s best for the country as a whole, NOT what’s best for the legacy institutions that have heavily influenced our “democratic” government.

On a personal note, Mr Gensler, I watched your MIT course and it was my first introduction into this new asset class. I know you believe in this new digital class because you wouldn’t waste your time teaching a course on a meaningless topic. When you asked the class the question early on about how many were already into this digital space, you saw the majority of the MIT students raised their hand, a very telling sign if you ever needed one to see where our young best minds are heading. Yes, it needs regulation, like any other financial sector so that investors are protected. I’m hopeful that as you make these regulations, you think of your students which are the everyday investor, not those imbedded in the legacy institutions.

Sincerely,
Mary Holroyd

Ps) Elizabeth Warren needs to take your course! She shouldn’t be blasting an area she knows nothing about!
