Subject: File No. SR-NYSE-2024-35
From: Edward Murlatt

I only received notification of the NYSE proposal to cease the requirement for Closed End Funds (CEFs) to hold annual shareholder meetings this morning. The notification made it clear that the SEC deadline to file comments was yesterday. The fact that only one of the CEFs in which I am invested saw fit to notify shareholders and that wasn't accomplished until after the SEC deadline demonstrates the need to maintain the requirement to hold annual shareholder meetings. Without the responsibility to report to shareholders and have shareholder voting rights over management of the funds, the entire CEF system becomes suspect. To be clear, I am opposed to the NYSE proposal to eliminate the annual meeting requirement for CEFs.
