I strongly urge the SEC to deny NYSE's proposal to eliminate annual shareholder meeting for closed-end funds. 1) I believe term limit is necessary as trustees appointed for life could easily become unaccountable, 2)Shareholders – as owners – deserve the right to determine who represents them, and (3) I am concerned that when annual meetings are not held, closed-end funds trade at larger discounts and investors can face billions of dollars in losses.
