ICOW comments on Natural Asset Companies The Independent Cattlemen of Wyoming strongly oppose the creation of Natural Asset Companies and consider it takings of private property as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and thereby is an unconstitutional rule. All the air, water and other property rights connected to private property belong to the private property owner and are not sitting there for the taking by the government or anyone else. We consider it a Ponzi Scheme by the Federal government. We oppose the selling off, and sell out, of America. We do not want our country’s public lands, waters and even air sold to private interests obliged to preclude the productive use of such resources to the betterment of our society and the strengthening of our economy. We also reject the imposition of unconstitutional restrictions via such means on individual Americans’ property rights and other freedoms. Our sentiments are further intensified by the prospect that those private interests may include hostile foreign powers like the Chinese Communist Party, Russia and Iran who may have their own reasons for wanting to lock down our hydrocarbon-based fuels, our minerals, forests, etc. We urge the Commission to reject proposed Rule SR-NYSE-2023-09 outright immediately. The Independent Cattlemen of Wyoming is a producer, grass roots organization organized to protect and promote the future viability of the Wyoming Family Livestock and Ranching Industries. ICOW is the John Wayne among cattlemen—strong, no-nonsense, common sense, and straight forward. It is a powerful organization that provides a check and balance for Wyoming producers when other organizations get heavy at the top and forget their members.
