Subject: File No. SR-NYSE-2023-09
From: Michael J Stumpf

To sell off control of our countries natural resources is a stunningly short sighted idea, if not a criminal act of theft from the people. And so I oppose the creation of Natural Asset Companies that will be used to sell off, and sell out, America. I do not want our country’s public lands, waters, atmospheric and metallic resources sold to private interests obliged to preclude the productive use of such resources to the betterment of our society and the strengthening of our economy. How can our nations precious resources even be priced if not for corruption and double dealing foreign enemies inherently underestimating their true value? Our natural resources must serve our children’s needs for the next 10,000 years, so any discussion of a true value being fixed today is simply unacceptable. We have been settled with 34 trillion in debt, but our birthright is those natural resources, and they are not to be toyed with or speculated on by those who we can not hold accountable and who may not have our long-term best interests at heart. I also reject the imposition of unconstitutional restrictions via such means on individual Americans’ property rights and other freedoms. My sentiments are further intensified by the prospect that those private interests may include hostile foreign powers like the Chinese Communist Party, Russia and Iran who may have their own reasons for wanting to lock down our hydrocarbon-based fuels, our minerals, forests, etc. I urge the Commission to extend the time available for comment on proposed Rule SR-NYSE-2023-09 or to reject it outright immediately.
