Dear Commission, WildLands Defense strongly opposes the proposal to allow Wall Street investment on America's public lands. This is a very harmful step towards ultimately privatizing public lands that are crucial to biodiversity protection. Private investment will pervert "management" of public lands towards the short term interest of the investors and speculators. It will also create a system similar to the ever-growing carbon credit scams- where big promises of "habitat improvement" on public lands will be made - but where outcomes in there arid West are highly uncertain.
