The NAC is an egregious attempt to remove land management from its local tenants. The financialization of ecosystem services lends itself to corruption, poor management, and illusory fantasy. Removing public land from the BLM’s management will devastate local economies, degrade natural landscapes, and benefit the few wealthy that afford this asset class. To monetize ecosystem services erodes the base of our nation by further extracting wealth from the bottom and aggregating it at the top.
