America's natural assets and public lands should never be monetized in this way. Nor should the proper regulatory and lawmaking role of Congress be circumvented, as modifying uses and rights for public lands via SEC rules, NYSE trading of 'equity rights' for these lands among private investors, and/or Natural Asset Companies buying up all rights to these lands, all very clearly do. As the United States is already suffering from a multitude of poor decisions by it's leaders and rule makers, going back decades, I would strongly urge the SEC to completely drop this proposal and never 'pick it up' again.
