This attempt amounts to outright theft of public lands that belong to the people. Sort of a back door way to claim public/private land, similar to Eminent Domain. See the results of Kelo vs. New London and the disaster that was spawned by that wrong-headed decision. Once again, private profit trumps public use. According to law, such decisions relating to the use, disposal or sale of public lands lies under the purview of the Congress, not the NYSE nor the SEC. This is a naked attempt for a power grab and resulting profit for private groups of speculators and charlatans. It must not be countenanced by the DOJ and the Congress. Legislation should be crafted to prevent such abuse of the public trust. Theodore Roosevelt would stand foursquare against it.
