I work at a Trona mine in Sweetwater County, live in Uinta County. Like most people here we love our outdoors and the good jobs. The proposed SEC ruling would be unconstitutional. violating the 10th Amendment, possibly enriching our nations enemies by letting them control our land. The word treason comes to mind. The proposed rule lacks clarity, oversight authority, a regulatory strategy, and a legal basis by which SEC can claim authority over federal lands. This is a bold, blatant, attempt at a land grab that would be disastrous for this state! The ranchers in this state are good stewards of their land. We live here, we know that taking care of the land is very important. We already have regulatory agencies that look over industry. This has disaster written all over it.
