The proposal to privatize public lands through stock options is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard, and one of the worst ideas resurrected from the Reagan era. I cannot think of anything more debasing of American culture and the last vestiges of the frontier - American public lands - than making it publicly traded public lands. How will people publicly trade lands? Will the robber barons just steal the land? Will they use their investment portfolio to dictate public lands policy for all American Citizens (e.g., ESG, DEI, destroy public lands under the "carbon footprint" to save the world, cancel culture public lands? The answer is "Yes." I don;t want these people coming close to our national public land trust. Public lands is discretionary spending. Spending on public lands is minuscle. We do not need to monetize public lands through investment portfolios. Like everything else, the elites/Wall Street greed mongers, including foreign agents, will screw up public lands as they do most everything else in the United States.How many elites supported removal of our history by BLM? They cannot ever be trusted. Let's keep nature a free good with undefined property rights diffused throughout the American population as a public land trust for, of, and by the people, for present and future generations.
