We are opposed to the notion of Natural Asset Companies. Our county is comprised of over 2 million acres of land - only 18% private. The rest is state and federal land, mostly BLM, USFS including wilderness. The existing rule making structures allow for fair and transparent interaction on the use and regulation of public lands, which significantly impacts the way in which private lands are utilized and their value. Bypassing those longstanding structures by selling rights to 3rd parties, which may include foreign entities or their proxies not supportive of the rights and values of American citizens is patently flawed and exposes American citizens and our government to undue influence. The NAC concept should not be implemented. Use existing structures to guide the use of our public lands by fair, open and transparent processes.
