I'm adding additional context to my previous comment opposing the proposed change...Under the Enabling Act of 1889 when Montana joined the Union, the federal government gave lands in every township to the state..These are called DNRC lands, and under the Montana Constitution all revenue generated by these lands must go to our state's school systems..This income is usually ag income and must go to our schools...The proposed changes would likely interfere or preclude what our constitution and law requires...Thank you....Charles Murtagh Bozeman Montana
