I oppose Rule SR-NYSE-2023-09 and the New York Stock Exchange’s listing of “Natural Asset Companies” (NACs). This insidious proposal is a veiled attempt to undermine the free market and the wishes of the people with regulatory grants of special treatment to preferred entities. How many times have we seen high sounding language from bureaucrats that restrict needed production and end up with unintended results, counter to the lofty language. No one or group of bureaucrats is capable of knowing what is best for this big country. It is necessary to leave these decisions in the hands of the public. Inevitably, when we get these regulations, only the politically connected benefit. The people – and the planet – will suffer.
