I unequivocally oppose the effort to implement natural asset companies. It is a terrible idea on multiple levels. Probably the most alarming are the potential national security implications of allowing foreign entities to secure and prevent the use of critical natural resources. This action would be rife with unintended consequences that would be disastrous to certain segments of our population, likely htting the western and midwestern states especially hard. Ms. Budd-Falen's letter, although lengthy, makes an articulate and cogent case in this area. The SEC's proposal is government overreach at its worst and should be completely withdrawn.
