SR-NYSE-2023-09 is an inherently bad idea for the security of the United States and takes the availbility of mineral rights exploration and acquisition out of the public's hands for an indefinite period of time. Our adversaries are already capitalizing on our lack of fossil fuel production and draconian restrictions on the mining of other precious metals needed in the electronic, technology and defense sectors. You would be limiting the rural communities ability to receive property tax on these lands which funds a significant portion of their needed infrastructure improvements. The adoption of this legislation is nothing more than a virtue signal to aggressive green energy groups that will have virtually no impact on the perceived threat of climate change. STOP developing legislation that caters to these green "environmental groups" by doing nothing but jeopardizing the security of this country.
