Individual ownership of private property is the very cornerstone and bedrock of our American republican democracy. The entire landmass of our fifty states belongs to the American people and is subject to their sovereign discretion to do with as they wish, except for discretions they may legally assign to their elected Congressional representatives in legitimate constitutional order. Allowing noncommercial domestic and even foreign entities with unknown intent to remove sovereign American property from private or public American ownership is deeply violative of fundamental American values. Expropriating ownership of private or public property from American hands can only be the prerogative of the duly elected US Congress, and then only with transparent and vitally important reasons widely acceptable to the American people.
