As a retail investor all I see this rule doing is providing more protection to hedgefunds and marketmakers from losing money when they make bad bets. Nobody protects my money when I make a bad investment. It seems like the SEC is pushing this rule is opposition of the retail investor and I think it would be a tragedy to pass such rules. I'm all for protecting the market but not by protecting the criminals and bad actors on wallstreet. Instead you should be passing rules that put more checks and balances on them instead of making sure they never get margin called. Please rethink this rule.
