This rule is absolutely not in line with a fair market. If a market participant wants to short a company out of business that’s fine. What’s not fine is not covering your shorts when you get too greedy. This rule would allow bad actors to create shares out of thin air and set their own price on covering their short positions. This rule hurts retail investors and has no business in the American stock market.
