I want to make this perfectly clear, this is absolutely absurd. The idea that our regulatory agencies would continue to come up with workarounds and shifts in power rather than fixing the root cause issues is honestly just sad. I work in IT and if I did my job the way the SEC has done theirs for the last 20+ years I’d be fired in less than 20 months. FTDs should never occur. Price discovery should be fully transparent and all trades should occur on lit markets. We need transparency and honesty, not additional layers of security.
