Dear Regulators,

I am an independant, international, household investor. I have no one to rely but the regulatory bodies and their integrity when having faith in the markets.
Dissecting these rules is hard enough as it is. So, why are the regulators we are supposed to trust redacting entire pages of proposed rule changes? How am I, as an individual concerned by the system, meant to trust these rule changes if the regulators won't even be transparent?

Transparency is the cornerstone of trust and faith in a system. It is why Gold-backed currencies worked. It is why fiat currencies are not. It is why nobody trusts the media or the government anymore. With every action regulators and government entities take, trust and faith in the US, the US Markets, and the US Dollar erodes.

Do you really think moving the US Markets further AWAY from true price discovery via supply and demand is a wise decision in these trying times?
Do you think having the DTC pick price on asymmetrically or irrationally priced stocks will promote faith in the system?
We the people have just watched the Fed and Treasury bail out banks, creating a new bailout facility to do so. More than 6 months of QT, undone in a few weeks of bailouts.
The USD has been weaponised against enemies of the state via banning Russia from the SWIFT system. This creates an existential, ongoing threat to any foreign government, making the USD and US Treasuries a liability at best, dead weight on their books at worst.

We're literally watching the US Government destroy the US Hegemony to preserve the wealth of the few. Foreign nations are responding by throwing in their lot with China and BRICS. Even Mexico wants out.

What happened to the American Dream? The land of opportunity has become the land of fake price discovery and the illusion of freedom... all so banks and billionaires don't have to pay for their bad decisions?

How can banks and hedge funds be caught in billionaire fraud schemes, regularly, and not even be fined 100% of profits? And you expect people to put their faith in that system?

No.
Transparent, regulated markets. TRUE price discovery. Real penalties for financial crimes.

This whole thing is so depressing. Good luck.

Regards,

A tired, disappointed, household investor.

Be better.
