Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for the invitation to comment upon the purchase of the Chicago Stock Exchange by a foreign company. I have worked in both Chinese and US companies for my career. Presently I'm involved with a US company that brings Chinese patients to the US for complex medical care. As a citizen of the United States, I'm proud to experience the positive effects of trade and commerce between top Chinese executives and US-based companies. Moreover, I have witnessed the positive effects of cross-border investments between the countries. I have encouraged and managed direct investment into China by major US corporations, in turn now I encourage direct investment in the US by China entities. Trade is the fundamental basis for positive foreign relations. Lastly, concerns regarding the control of a US stock exchange by a foreign entity is way overblown. I am highly confident the controls created and managed by our regulatory system serve as an important and effective check and balance for any investor, foreign or domestic. Therefore, I support the purchase of the Chicago Stock Exchange by the investment group led by Casin.
