I support the proposed transaction because I believe it will stimulate investment opportunities in a growing global marketplace. Foreign investment should be encouraged by our government because it makes Americans more competitive and wealthy. Now that there is global competition for capital, now more than ever, America must use its advantages as a nation of laws to be a safe haven for legitimate foreign capital.
