Consider the ongoing technological evolution of humanity. The next step for a benchmark unit of value to be trusted on a global scale is not one proposed by any government. It is one whose ledger is review-able and maintained by anyone in any nation and whose quantity and history cannot be altered. It HAS to happen and this is the only WAY it can happen.
