The City of Ladue is privileged to be able to rely on the input of several of its citizens who serve, without compensation, on the City's pension committees. The City objects to the proposed rule because of the obligations it would place on these community volunteers and the resultant likelihood that several would, quite understandably, decline to serve. The City of Ladue believes the unintended but predicable consequences of this rule would prevent the City, and similar cities across the nation, from mining the benefits of the wisdom of its citizens.
