I am a recently retired hotel manager. My intend was to live off SS and to invest my savings in save US Treasuries.
Now I am shocked by all the fear and rumors circulating about Treasuries. I am even more distressed about the very low interest paid. It is impossible to even maintain my residence. In distress I decided to invest a small portion of my savings in high yielding Mortgage Reits in order to sustain my modest retirement.
I urge you to not take away this last bastion of receiving a decent yield on ones savings.
If you do I will simply have to move to a third world country where the living is cheaper, not easy for a 77 yr. old couple.
That is simply put my situation. Thank you for the opportunity to post it.
