March 31, 2023 I support the proposed rule. Prohibiting restricted competition trading centers from executing orders internally will promote market transparency, promote true price discovery, protect retail investors from harm caused by side agreements between brokers and market makers, and prevent market makers from trading on information not known to other market participants. Moving away from lit exchanges has almost exclusively benefited market makers at the expenses of individual investors.
