This proposal regarding the best execution of transactions performed by broker-dealers at the request of household investors is critical towards providing fair and well functioning markets. Without these rules, brokers are capable of extracting wealth from clients, suggesting that brokers do not have clients' best interests in mind. Without regulations, brokers will continue in self-serving behaviors that undermine the integrity of US financial markets. Thank you for your efforts to bring better transparency to the current status of what is an incredibly convoluted financial infrastructure. If brokers / stock transaction intermediaries are allowed to continue to disregard their clients as priority number one, then there should be a shift from this moral expectation of good faith among brokers into a legal expectation.
