The proposed changes could have several potential benefits, such as increasing investor confidence in the fairness and integrity of the securities markets, improving the accuracy and completeness of corporate disclosures, and promoting greater accountability among corporate executives and boards of directors. As a retail/household investor, this matters a great deal to me of knowing that the markets that I am putting my money are fair for the greatest and the least of these.
