January 12, 2023 The act that this is a new rule amazes me. Reading through this, I am absolutely amazed that such set of rules somehow does not exist already. How was written policies about best execution for orders never a thing before? With entities like Citadel gloating about internalizing vast quantities of retail order volume, keeping them from going to lit markets, the idea that standards for best execution does not exist so far is frankly amazing in our market systems. I appreciate that SEC finally taking some degree of action on this, and I really hope that they take some degree of action on this.
