December 26, 2022 Dear Secretary Countryman, I am writing you today in strong support of this potential new ruling. It has been made very clear that the current market structure is not set up to the benefit of retail investors and is being used as a means to profit off of them instead. This potential ruling for best execution is a small step out of many needed I sincerely hope that this rule along with the additional potential rulings will be passed and implemented ASAP. However rules are near meaningless without proper enforcement of them. The penalties for breaking these rules have not slowed down large hedge funds, market makers, or brokerages to date and instead are a mere slap on the wrist or a regular cost of doing business. As the general public becomes more aware of the crimes of market makers and short hedge funds, I sincerely hope that there is significantly more scrutiny and monitoring of their actions. Including substantial enforcement in a much more timely manner.
