I would first like to thank the SEC for looking into changing these rules. As a person who puts money into the NYSE I feel that some of the conditions are not even for the retail investor. These new proposals look very promising and if I did too will give positive growth for the markets for many years.
My only worry is that Market making companies who make billions of pounds from retail trades will not make this kind of money anymore and so will look to bend the rules to suit them which will probably be done illegally now if they are caught the SEC finding them 1 million when they make 500 million from this deal will not stop anything so nothing will change. I would hope that the SEC will make the fines more suited to the crime e.g. if the profit from these deals is 1 billion than the fine will be 1 billion there is no point in bringing a rule in if it can be broken and the cost of breaking it is minimal. Once again I would like to thank you for all these new rules that you are proposing and help the market retailer in the markets.
